Allina Health pixel settlement, who is included and how to file
Last checked August 9, 2026
Patients sued Allina Health System in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, case 24-CV-3674, over tracking pixels embedded on its websites. The complaint says those pixels forwarded personal and health-related details to outside companies without patient consent.
Allina denies the claims and the court never ruled on who was right. The two sides settled instead. The settlement covers about 2,531,323 people and pays from a $12.5 million fund.
Claims are open now and close September 8, 2026. Filing is free on the administrator's site, and no documentation is required.
What the lawsuit alleged
Tracking pixels are small pieces of code that report page activity back to advertising and analytics companies. The plaintiffs said Allina ran them on pages where patients logged into the portal, paid bills, and booked appointments, so the pixels could capture information tied to a person's care.
The settlement splits members into two groups. Portal users, non-portal bill pay users, and non-portal scheduling users from September 16, 2018 through May 11, 2026 share $10,303,098. Other Allina patients from the same window who did not use those services share $2,196,902.
Where the case stands
The settlement is in its claims period. The deadline to file online or postmark a paper form is September 8, 2026. Anyone who excluded themselves is out of the class, along with Allina officers, directors, related entities, counsel, and court personnel.
Each approved claimant receives an equal share of whatever remains in their group after court-approved fees and costs. The exact amount depends on how many valid claims come in.
Filing with the administrator and what follows
Go to the Allina Pixel Settlement website, choose the online claim form, and enter the Notice ID and last name from your settlement notice. Confirm your contact and payment details, submit, and save the confirmation. If your address changes before payment, tell the administrator.
Payments go out after the court grants final approval and any appeals are resolved. Payout's free app can also route you to this form, but the administrator's site is the direct path and costs nothing.
