Google Web and App Activity verdict, no claims process yet

On September 3, 2025 a federal jury in Rodriguez et al. v. Google LLC (Case No. 3:20-cv-04688-RS, N.D. Cal.) found that Google collected app activity from roughly 98 million phone and tablet users who had turned off 'Web & App Activity' or 'supplemental Web & App Activity.' The jury awarded $425,651,947 across two nationwide classes, one for Android users and one for non-Android users.
No claim form exists. This is a verdict, not a settlement. Google has asked the court to set it aside and may appeal. A payment process would start only after those challenges are resolved and the court approves a distribution plan.

Android users and non-Android users, including iPhone owners, who had the Web & App Activity settings off at any time between July 1, 2016 and September 23, 2024 while their non-Google app activity still reached Google.
